The First Swallow Arrives is a serene seascape painting viewed from the seashore with the first swallow of summer arriving to the UK coast. It is 36x30x1.5 inches. The colours are pale lilacs, blues, white and yellows and the sun can be seen shining out behind the clouds. The edges of the painting are blurred - which catapults the viewer into the panting and right onto the beach. The first swallow has just arrived and is caught in her mid-air acrobatics wondering which direction she will take. The painting was inspired by plenty of sea watching and by the fact that I love swallows and am so happy each spring when they return to nest in the UK from Europe or Africa. I like the feeling of this painting which, for me, is calming and hopeful at the same time. Painted on deep edge canvas, ready to hang, no frame needed and comes with certificate of authenticity from the artist.
