Eco Tourism- they call it. It felt voyeuristic somehow but some years after I had set these images to one side it became important to let the world know what was happening in this beautiful country.The children and their families were sent to school because tourists staying at the nearby game reserve came to visit them and buy their crafts. I know hundreds of game reserves vanished when Mugabe came to power and along with them the support for the poorest.
