Battersea Power Station on the south bank of the River Thames is one of the world's largest brick buildings and notable for its original art deco interior, fittings and decor. Decommissioned between 1975 and 1983, it remained empty for almost 30 years before being redeveloped as the centrepiece of a vibrant new commercial and residential neighbourhood in Battersea.
