This piece captures the aesthetics of rusty decay and the transience of these isolated and sci-fi like giant structures as they slowly vanish into the sea.
The Maunsell Forts are armed towers built in the Thames estuary during the Second World War to protect London from the Nazi threat. They were decommissioned in the late 1950s and though subsequently used for pirate radio broadcasting, have been largely without human contact for the last 50 years.
