Art is a healing and meditative process for me. I retired from work when my health became poor and have been rebuilding things by learning digital art. I hope the pictures - particularly the botanical work - convey some of the pleasure it has given me. I generally work very slowly, I draw and sketch by hand often but my main techniques use digital art, a lot of my pictures are inspired by the natural world. So my mantra is 'natural, slow, digital' - which makes sense to me. It's a counter-weight to fast, unnatural, digital I guess :-)). I use Affinity Designer (a great digital art programme from the UK company, Serif) and Procreate. Affinity is tough to learn but worth sticking with and Procreate is a wonderful starting place for anyone interested in dipping a toe into digital art.
