This small painting is of a favourite Scottish subject. I think of it as a wild garden although it is not really cultivated as such. It belongs to a very old friend in Scotland. Many years ago you could walk down from the terraces and get atop a low wall bordering here. The track itself goes through these lovely tall grasses, a mixture of all sorts of natural plants. Now it is very overgrown and boggy , but it’s appeal remains the same for me. The canvas is framed with a dark blue grey box style frame which complements the colours in the artwork.
