Bodnant Gardens Wales. The path accompanied the water until there was an overflowing of shrubs and trees. There was a small bridge just visible as a series of wooden uprights at the end of the lake, and this gave access to a further path through the shrubbery. I enjoyed the bursts of light on the path and in the top left of the painting, in contrast with the dark depths of the water itself. I used this blue palette to express the more quiet aspect of the subject and put in flashes of orange and pale peach to contrast and suggest the warmth of the day. This painting is framed in a floater frame washed white and is ready to hang. A statement piece.
