I am a professional landscape artist based in Buckinghamshire and Berkshire. My main fascination is with trees and part of my work is exploring the current and historical relationships we have with woodlands. Having always lived near ‘the woods’, I have been fascinated by arboreal stories, both ancient, mythical and personal. As a child I created fairylands and hideaways, as an adult I wander through ancient woods, copses and forests, discovering space to reflect, noticing patterns and stories, breathing in the smells and occasionally hugging a friendly tree.

I love the changing seasons and the effect of morning and evening light in the woods, hoping that my paintings will evoke memories or stories, inviting the viewer in, to enjoy the smells and atmosphere of ancient woodlands. I paint with broken brushmarks, akin to type of pixelation, so the sensation of moving in and out of my painting creates different visual effects. Strong contrasts and exaggerated colour contribute to the overall experience.

I am represented by several galleries including Clifton Fine Art in Bristol. My work can be found at Affordable Art Fair Battersea and Hampstead most years. I also work with publishers, Museums and Galleries, to create cards and stationery products.

I curate a regular annual group exhibition in Henley on Thames, Connected, expanding soon with a second exhibition in Harrogate. In addition to exhibitions I take commissions both from interior designers, such as Lindi Reynolds, and to private clients across the UK.

I run workshops and painting courses in South Oxfordshire and have written articles for art magazines.

I am also on an upcoming programme on Sky Arts.....
