My name is Denise A Bibby; I grew up in Lancashire, studied and worked in Oxford and later Somerset. Growing up my natural disposition was all things creative and a pencil was always near to hand. I grew up with a family of 'makers' however - I seemed to have an interest in science too. Initially I trained in Textile Design and Science at Bolton's Textile Institute. Later I joined Research for Archeology and the History of Art, University of Oxford. Both roles were a combination of art and science. Drawing and painting was a hobby as my career developed: the artist was bubbling within!
Curious and exploratory - I have tried most media - however I seem to have settled with charcoal, dark graphite, pastels and the ever tricky watercolours. Nature is my main theme - with a dash of figure drawing. I'm a walker and often photograph en route which usually becomes the inspiration for my artworks. In recent years I have dedicated my time to being a full time artist and have exhibited locally. My interests and growth are ongoing and cherished.
I invite you to peruse my gallery and I hope your eye rests there a while..
