To create an atmospheric aura to this painting the use of colours were blended together to achieve large areas of semi-calmness. Sand and modelling paste were mixed to form a diagonal textured area. Paint was then applied directly onto the canvas and using a palette knife to scrape and scratch, I achieved the desired result. Canvas edges painted - no need to frame.
