Another example of high horizon, or huge picture space foreground. Simple elements and compound parts. Limited palette. Overall systemized style of paint application (handwriting). These things unify the picture and give it strength and presence...that's the art talk...the arrangement of all those things and what you see makes for a vision of an opening in a woodland scene; a clearing or glade. This is something I've brought to art via landscape painting from my world in Britain.
