Photographs of course don't do paintings proper justice and the luscious dabs, flecks and mark-making is always lost when viewing artwork like this. But, I hasten to add, my old art teacher said, "Photography is the best promotion painting has ever had."... I would add, "Photography is the best thing that has ever happened to painting." meaning, the world gets to view painting.
As for this painting, a quirky and simple subject, involving three main represented elements - sky, trees within a hedgerow and field. A sense of being in a field and captivated by nothing but nature.
