Abigail kahraman

I am a self taught Artist from Cambridge and have been drawing since I can remember. I come from a family of artists and it works well around my family commitments as a mother and wife. I specialise in Pencil work and have a love for charcoal and pastels. I love to draw animals as I love the different textures, colours and techniques needed to recreate them on paper. I am actively trying to educate myself on the animals I draw, the places they live and the often, complex situations that surround their interactions with humans and the rest of the world.

I occasionally like to let loose with more expressional and unlimited work with paint and resin so from time to time enjoy making abstract pieces.

As a teenager I had a piece of work selected for a young artists exhibition in the Mall Galleries in London which was a fantastic privilege and incentive to pursue my art. From then until now I have been teaching myself techniques and skills to improve the quality of my work and as I have matured and aged I have come to find my niche and preferred style of working.

I have started to partake in exhibitions and Galleries in more recent months, am a member of the Association of Animal Artists and am looking for more opportunities to use my work to support causes I believe in. Some of my more popular works are available in prints and I also like to do bespoke pieces and animal portraits for collectors and customers.
