Every time I drove past this apple tree on the side of the road on Rushmere Heath, Ipswich, it demanded to be painted. All the autumn leaves had fallen and it was left with golden apples hanging from damp, blackened branches. After a couple of years of this, I gave in.
The finish is unvarnished with a 'dry' quality.
