The Glenfinnan Monument made a deep impression on me when I first laid eyes on it in 2020. It felt so deeply redolent of history and of one of its most tragic moments, at that. The monument is dedicated to the soldiers who fought for Scottish independence in the Jacobite rising of 1745.
