An original watercolour painting of a Madonna Lily based upon a study by the renowned botanical artist Pierre Redoute. The work of Redoute has always inspired my own botanical work. I used this as a demonstration piece with my students to introduce them to watercolour techniques such as wet on wet, sponging, splattering,resist, dry on wet and dry brush. The sculptural white blooms have been set against an expressive, contrasting background to add drama to the piece. The work is unframed but will arrive in a professionally cut, acid free double mount in a neutral pale cream / ivory colour to suit most home decor. The mount is cut to fit a frame size of 12 x 16 inches. It will come with a signed certificate of authenticity.
