Geraldine Taylor

I started as a figure and animal painter at Royal Doulton whilst developing my love of fine art and went on to achieve a BA Hons Fine Art Degree. During my degree course I was awarded the Ian Rank Broadley Prize  in the British Medal Society Student Project for my medal which was displayed at the British Museum and then at the Ashmolean Museum Oxford. In recent times I have won Best Artist Award at the Stafford Art Exhibition. 

Landscape has always been an inspiration for me. The vibrancy of colour, the forms created within nature and objects hold a particuler fascination. I also like to get close up in order to study the often missed macro elements within the subject.

I have expanded my works to portraitures of my family and friends, industrial structures and the working environment including that associated with inland waterways the latter being the subject of a recent exhibition at Portland Basin Museum - Manchester.

Currently I have turned my attention to abstract interpretations of elements within nature and structures. I have produced works in oil, water colour,  acrylic, and on silk during my career.

I regularly share my interests and skills with others when running workshops and classes in a variety of media from oil, acrylic and silk painting.
