I paint from the memories I have of myself as a young girl entering adulthood and try to express how I felt at that time, a time of grief and mental anguish. In this bold and dynamic pose, a girl stands reaching for freedom and opportunity while at the same time she is balancing precariously suggesting uncertainty and insecurity which so much of what I experienced back then and also what I notice in my own daughters and their friends.
