This is my painting called 'BOY' of Squadron leader 'Geoffrey H.A. Wellum' DFC (1921-2018)
who was the youngest person to fly a Spitfire at the age of 18.
It is called 'BOY' because that was his nickname.
It is in Oils on Stretched canvas and is 24" x 16" (60 cm x 42cm). I got the idea of partially hiding the photo of him (when he was in his twenties) from the painting of 'The Ambassadors' by Hans Holbein where he has partially hidden behind a curtain a miniature of Christ on the cross.
