Painted in 2005. This was my first oil painting. Using an Alwyn Crawshaw book during the mid 1990s I had begun to paint the jam jar in oils but I didn't finish. In 2005 I joined an art course and completed the painting as a still life. I used a different jar and added the red Christmas tree bauble because of the reflection of the studio where I was working. Behind were placed sheets of coloured card to add to the piece and which were distorted through the jar.
